This last image reminds me of a scene in the movie "Smoke" when a cigar shop owner sets up a camera at 10:00 am, every day of the week for 10 years or so. At first the images look exactly the same but after a while you start to notice the subtle ways the space changes--individuals moving in or out of the frame, changes in light or weather, even trash or objects that show up and disappear like magic. We'll develop those powers of discretion with these walkabout, ideally noticing things that might have gone unnoticed before. See with new eyes, so to speak. Keep up the good work!
We're part of a larger blogging group at the University of Utah, studying Salt Lake City. Basically, our goal is to get to know the city as intimately as we can. We'll be going on urban walkabouts, taking photos, and talking to locals. And along the way, we'll blog about our experiences.
